Meta Description: Countries have started welcoming people again, but that does not mean the risk isn’t there anymore. Here are places you can travel to but don’t forget to wear a mask and sanitize your hands.
Most Americans, like the majority of the people around the world, put their vacations on hold this year. Sure, it was quite easy at first, but as days passed, the lockdown became miserable and the coronavirus shows no sign of abating. People have now started thinking about their delayed vacations and where they can go for a quick getaway.
Well, the answer to your quick breaks would be shorter breaks in smaller towns and cities that are close to your home.
The pandemic has changed everything that we know and love about traveling. Like not in a million years would we have imagined getting on a plane with a mask on, leaving a seat in the middle for social distancing and sanitizing after every 10 minutes. While countries have lost complete control over the virus, some have made a remarkable recovery. Some countries have even reopened their borders, but that does not mean that they are completely free of it either.
Here are some of the countries that have reopened their borders and relaxed their restrictions:
AFRICA
Africa has reopened its borders. The passengers are requested to carry a printed medical certificate that reads “negative Covid19 PCR” issued no more than 72 hours before departure. The passengers are also subject to medical screening upon arrival.
Cities like Burundi, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Chad, Sudan, Central African Republic, Morocco, Zambia, Namibia, Somalia, and more have welcomed travelers all around the world, but with certain measurements.
NORTH AMERICA
Mexico welcomed passengers but asked them to submit a questionnaire upon arrival. But you will have to contact your airline to confirm if your flight will go ahead since the US-Mexico land border has closed to all non-essential traffic.
CENTRAL AMERICA
Belize, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and more have reopened their borders and allowed some citizens of some countries to enter. Eligible travelers are asked to fill out an epidemiological form before departure.
THE CARIBBEAN
The Caribbean has pre-approved visitors from particular countries. Approved travelers are asked to fill a pre-registration form and take a covid19 PCR test within 4 to 5 days of travel and present with negative results.
You are allowed to travel, by all means, go out there, but do not forget while you’re having fun, you have a responsibility – do not be the cause of another outbreak. Take all the precautions and follow the SOPs as directed by the experts.
